Totally 180 km track will be laid on Georgian Territory.

1100 persons are currently employed in the process of construction at Georgian section. Upon commencement of the operation of the project 2500 persons, advantageously local HR, will occupy work places.

The railroad will have potential to transfer 1 mln passengers and 5  mln tons per year for the first stage. This volume will be persistently increased and at the second stage cargo carrying capacity is planned to reach 15 mln tons.

 It should be mentioned, that Marabda-Kartsakhi railway will be the highest railroad above sea level in Europe.
